This year is the start of the Master’s program in Game Programming Technologies (TPI). It is designedThe Game Design and Development Training Center at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), together with specialists from Gaijin .
The program is based both on the practical experience and needs of the gaming industry, as well as on the MIPT’s expertise in fundamental education. Students will gain skills:
- game engine programming,
- computer graphics,
- artificial intelligence,
- game physics.
They will also learn to work in a team, study all stages of production, from the first semester they will engage in practical work, and a personal game project can become a thesis.
Practice can be done in a real gaming company.
Andrey Raigorodsky , Director of the Phystech School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, MIPT:
Math is beautiful in itself, which is why it has a wide variety of applications. Game development is one of the youngest, but very fast-growing areas in which mathematics, programming, and sometimes physics are needed! That is why a master’s degree in game development is opening at FPMI, which will train specialists capable of creating new engines, tools and full-fledged games.
Education is free, but those who wish must first pass interviews and entrance tests for the FPMI master’s program. You are required to:
- bachelors degree,
- programming experience,
- confident knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably C ++),
- love for games and the desire to create them.
Applications are accepted until the end of July, and in August they will form the final list of students. The program is designed for two years – based on the results, a state diploma from the MIPT will be issued.
